## Executive Summary

USDR is building the missing layer of scientific infrastructure: a living, version-controlled, community-governed map of what humanity does *not* yet know.

Unlike databases of published findings, USDR explicitly catalogs open research problems, testable hypotheses, and rigorous cross-domain mathematical bridges. It turns the "unknown frontier" into structured, findable, and actionable knowledge.

Universities that support USDR gain a strategic advantage in research competitiveness, interdisciplinary collaboration, open science leadership, and training the next generation of scientists who can work across domains.

We are seeking founding institutional partners who want to shape this infrastructure from the ground up and receive early recognition, influence, and benefits as it scales.

We are designing lightweight, high-value models that build directly on USDR’s existing governance structure (see GOVERNANCE.md).

### Founding Institutional Member (Recommended Entry Point)
- Recognition as a founding partner in all public materials and the preprint.
- Seat on an early Institutional Advisory Group (light time commitment).
- Priority input on roadmap and partnership framework.
- Branded visibility for your institution’s contributions.
- Training/workshop opportunities for your researchers and students.
- Suggested commitment: 1–3 years of support (cash or significant in-kind) at a level appropriate to your institution.

3. **Pilot Engagement** (optional but recommended) — Identify 1–3 high-value unknowns or bridges from your faculty for contribution. Experience the process and see the output.
4. **Partnership Proposal** — We develop a tailored, lightweight agreement (1–3 years) with clear deliverables and recognition.
5. **Public Launch Participation** — Founding partners will be highlighted in the public launch (target: summer/fall 2026).
